Light travels faster than sound,
Thats why some people appear smart, until you hear them speak…

That’s my first track day at Englishtown’s road course in NJ

Computer tech support is one of the worst things in the world to do. Be it for your job, your family, friends or co-workers, every time you recommend or touch something technical, you own it.

This is why the iPad will be such an important device to the world. It’s the full fledged computer that will actually be stable.

Now there are always going to be questions and issues, but rarely fatal ones. Here is a list of things that the iPad should not do:

-	Get viruses
-	Show bizarre error messages
-	Fill the screen with bizarre dialog boxes or advertisements
-	Clutter the desktop with random crap every time you install something
-	“Lose” files (i.e. “it just dissapeared!”)
-	Get slower after using it for a few months
-	Force you to reboot 3 times to install or update
-	Make random sounds (background apps)

So I think this is great for the novice user. Mom’s and grandmothers around the world should get these as gifts for sharing photos and doing a little email. But I don’t think it stops there. I think businesses could kick ass with these things. Big companies can write iPad apps or just keep using their existing web apps, just update them to work nicely in Safari. It would force their employees to focus more on their work because there is no multitasking. Keep some real computers around incase the users want to check something out that requires Flash or run some bizarre specialty app from time to time. All while taking a huge chunk out of their tech support costs because these things will be rock solid.

Instead of giving the masses a boring, broken, slow, crapware ridden PC. Give them something that is rock solid and helps them focus on their jobs instead of the computer itself.

Is Apple Killing the Mouse?

So Apple brought the mouse to where it is today. Most average computer users suck at typing so they usually use the mouse for most tasks. Honestly many of Apple’s own apps for Mac OS are not optimized for keyboard use.

So many are saying that with the iPad, Apple is declaring that the PC is dead. Is the mouse dead along with it? The iPad cannot be used with a wireless mouse. Does that mean when you use the keyboard dock you will have to reach to the screen to do anything other than type? This could get really tiring. What about selecting text to copy and paste? I can’t imagine text selection being easy to do while reaching over the keyboard and trying to keep your hand steady. (try to use your iPhone when it’s mounted to the dashboard of your car, not easy)

So will the iPad allow us to navigate the UI with the keyboard when it’s plugged in? Quit, launch and switch apps? Will there be keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste? Are my arms going to get tired or am I going to be constantly removing the iPad from the dock when I need to touch it?

I hope that the keyboard will allow more of a power user like me to get around quickly since the iPhone touch interface really slows me down.

I guess who better to kill the mouse than the people who made it so popular. I say good riddance!

SSR Type C wheels with Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. The wheels weight only 18lbs, stock wheels are 25lbs so this is a big savings. Total weight with tires is about 50lbs. Need to compare to stock tires/wheel combo to see how much unsprung weight I am really losing.

Unfotunately these can’t go on until it gets warm :( Click through for the gallery
